Terms and Conditions
The childcare fees are from $4.50 per hour per child.
BJ's Homebased Childcare Services have the WINZ childcare subsidy forms and a coordinator will fill one out for you and then it is important that you make an appointment with WINZ or your case Manager. This could save you a lot of money on your childcare fees if you do qualify, however in the mean time you are required to pay each and every week your childcare fees. It is very important that you ensure that your child's account is up to date and paid on a weekly basis. If your account is overdue without an explanation you may not be able to attend childcare with your caregiver, please contact management as soon as possible if you have problems. Overdue fees will incur a penalty fee.
All You Need to Know About 20 Hours ECE Care
BJ’s Homebased Childcare Services is proud to be able to provide 20 Hours ECE for all 3 and 4 year old children under a Government Initiative. Below we answer some frequently asked questions about 20 hours ECE:
Ø Who will be eligible for 20 Hours ECE at BJ’s Homebased Childcare Services (Ltd)?
All 3 and 4 year olds will be eligible for up to 6 hours ECE per day and up to 20 hours ECE per week in total. The daily and weekly limits include hours already used at another ECE provider, such as kindergarten or preschool. The Ministry of Education requires all parents/caregivers to complete an Attestation Form BEFORE any ECE hours are received.
Ø Is there a top up fee required?
Yes – A top up fee which is also known as a quality charge will be charged for all 20 Hours ECE Ministry of Education hours claimed: 0.75 cents per hour for each ECE hour claimed. Any hours outside will be charged as an hourly fee of the centre policy.
Ø How do I apply for the 20 Hours ECE?
You can come to the office and complete the appropriate forms or phone the office we can post this out to you. Please ensure that BJ’s Homebased Childcare Services receives the appropriate forms before the ECE care is required to start, as it cannot be backdated. However BJ’s Homebased Childcare Services must have a photocopy of your child’s birth Certificate or passport and immunization certificate if immunized.
Ø 20 hours ECE
The appropriate form for 20 hours ECE is on the enrolment this needs to be filled in as a requirement from the Ministry of Education. It is a legal agreement that you as parent/caregiver enter into with the Ministry of Education. In this agreement you are declaring that your child is not receiving more 20 ECE hours than you are entitled to. If this form is not completed, BJ’s Homebased Childcare Services is not allowed to offer 20 ECE hours. If your child attends more than one ECE provider, you must complete the appropriate form at each provider. It is parents/caregivers responsibility to ensure you do not claim more than the 6 hours per day or more than 20 hours ECE per week between all providers. Failure to ensure accuracy of information on these forms could result in the Ministry of Education claiming funding back from parents/caregivers or in cases of fraud, pressing charges against parents/caregivers under the Crimes Act. There is no funding on a public holiday so it is important to change your ECE hours to another day otherwise you will lose them. Your Educator has the paperwork for this however it needs to be in the office well before the public holiday arrives.
Ø Will Work and Income subsidies still be available?
Yes, Work and Income subsidies will be available to eligible families for any hours that are not covered by 20 ECE hours. For example, a child attending 24 hours per week could receive 20 hours ECE and a 4 hour Work and Income subsidy.
Ø What happens to my fees if my child is not eligible for 20 Hours ECE?
If your child is not eligible for 20 Hours ECE, then you will be charged at BJ’s Homebased Childcare Services childcare fees rate.
What you need to supply for your child.
As parent's you will supply your own child's food, drink, (or water will be supplied) nappies, wet wipes and changes of clothes. Please expect your child to get dirty and messy, as we provide an educational environment. Please ensure you have enough changes of clothes and that they arrive in care with clothes that are acceptable for childcare. Caregivers will not be held responsible for stained or ruined clothing if you have not supplied this. Please ensure that you have enough nappies for the unfortunate of not having enough for your caregiver. We offer flexible hours for you, making sure we still meet the Ministry of Education's requirements. Please ensure that you collect your child at your booked time or that you contact your caregiver as soon as possible. We will of course always try and accommodate your needs the best way we can. Caregivers will have their homes checked on a regular basis to ensure our safety requirements are being met at all times. Also the coordinator will be doing observations of your child at the same time. You will receive a copy of the observation. |
