Educator Application Form
Thank you for your interest in becoming an Educator with BJs Homebased Childcare services (Ltd). You are welcome to keep this page for your records.
Educators are able to care for up to 4 children under the age of 5. Educator’s can receive from $4.00 per hour, per child so you are able to earn between $16.00 to $20.00 per hour and pay very little tax. Parents supply their children with their own food, nappies, and formula etc.
BJ’s do ask you to complete a small Open Polytechnic course and a First Aid course that educators need to do and when completed your income increases to $4.20 per hour per child and you can earn up to $16.80.
The coordinators will need to do a safety check on your home. Here are some guidelines that the coordinator will need to look at when doing a safety check:
- Smoke alarms installed and working,
- Safety catches on cupboards i.e. Bathroom, kitchen and laundry if necessary.
- A fully fenced area of at least 20 square meters or more, which children cannot climb over, under or through it - in other words children can not leave your outside area.
I have enclosed an application form including police checks; please send the police check along with your application form. Police checks must be completed for anyone over the age of 17 years. If you need more copies please let us know.
Once BJ’s have received your application we will organize an interview with you.
